Kernow training are providing a one day course that covers the essential lifesaving skills that you might need at anytime.

This one day course is aimed at giving delegates the skills and confidence to take charge of first aid in case of injury or other first aid need prior to the arrival of the emergency services as well as being a like skill for life. It includes paediatric elements which the EFA does not cover.

Course content                                

• The task of a First Aider
• Initial assessment / Managing incidents /Primary survey
• Resuscitation of a non breathing adult casualty
• Paediatric first aid and CPR
• Choking – adult and paediatric
• Coping with common medical conditions: Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes etc
• Recognise and treatment of shock & bleeding
• First Aid equipment
• Dealing with: burns, scalds and fractures
• Head Injuries – concussion and compression
• Unconsciousness / Recovery position
• Childhood conditions: febrile fitting and sickle cell disease
